About the Girdwood Nordic Ski Club

The Girdwood Nordic Ski Club was founded in 2008 with the vision of creating a world-class Nordic/Multi-Use trail system within the Girdwood Valley for year-round enjoyment of locals and visitors alike.  To acheive this, we will:
  • facilitate the acquisition of trail easements within the Girdwood Valley.
  • develop, maintain, and operate a public Nordic/multi-use trail system.
  • promote hiking, biking, cross country skiing, and all recreation trail use on this trail system, and surrounding trails.
  • encourage personal fitness, trail safety, and healthy competition for participants of all ages and abilities.
  • educate the public about conservation, trail etiquette, and sustainability of the trail system.
  • foster cooperation among all trail users by coordinating with other trail agencies, public programs, and nonprofits.
  • improve trail access for all Girdwood trails.
  • promote long term trail conservation for social, economical, and health benefits for the Girdwood Valley.
